Let CityGuide DMS guide your way. With CityGuide DMS you may use fast and innovative routing functions..

 
You may select any given objects within your CityGuide DMS application as starting and ending points for your route.

 
In addition to that, you may choose between several different route systems for your selected route, e.g. "no barriers", "pedestrians" or "bicyclists".

 


 

Routing off
Turns the routing function off.
 
New
Creates a new route.
 
Open
Opens a route that was saved locally during a previous session of CityGuide DMS.
 
Save / Save as...
This option lets you save a previously opened or newly created route to your computer.
 
Properties
Displays the properties of your current route in a dialogue window.
 
Direct help...
Invokes this program documentation.
 

Created routes can be printed out together with their respective directions. In order to do this, just select "View - Print" from the menu bar in your City Guide application to start the print preview.
 

 
 
 Routing - Create a new Route

 
Select the menu "Routing - New" in order to create a new route. A dialogue window will open that lets you enter the parameters for your route:
 

 
Use the "..." buttons to identify start and destination points for your route. Afterwards select the desired course grid that you wish to use.

 
Now press "Start" in order to start the calculation and display of the route in the map window. Depending on your internet connection this may take some time.

 

 
 
 Routing - Properties

 
The properties of your current route including directions, parameters and statistics can be invoked through the "Routing - Properties" menu tab.
 

 
The properties dialogue offers you three different view modes of the current route that can be accessed by selecting the appropiate buttons at the lower end of the window:
 

Routing
Displays the directions for the current route.
 

Statistics
Offers a statistical overview on the current route.
 

Printing...
Opens the printing dialogue for your current route.
 
Close
Ends the properties dialogue.
 

Select "Close" in order to end the properties dialogue.

 

 
 
 Routing - Functions

 
Once the routing mode has been initiated, the following functions will be available in the program-interface as shown below ... 
 

 
(1) Menu Routing
(2) Toolbar Routing
(3) Informations about the current route
(4) Register-tab Routing (only in active routing mode)
(5) List of all waypoints within the route
(6) Mode "Jump to target" on/off
(7) Informations about the active waypoint
 

Notes:


When using the routing mode for the first time, create a new route und play around with the helper tools. You will see how easy it is to navigate a route using CityGuide DMS.
